As an active volunteer for Shooting Stars, an all year round special needs basketball program, I’d like to announce shooting stars sister program, The Dream league who will be hosting the Special Olympics.

At the Special Olympics, 10 teams made up of athletes with intellectual disabilities will be competing in basketball games, with three games taking place at a time. As volunteers, we will be responsible for keeping score, monitoring teams, directing people to the gyms, and ensuring the event runs smoothly so that everyone can enjoy watching the athletes play! If you're passionate about sports, acceptance, and community, we'd love for you to join us!

The Special Olympics event will take place on June 7, 2025, at Roslyn High School from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. We are looking for volunteers who can work through shifts—whether it's one hour, multiple hours, or even the entire day! We offer community service hours for all volunteers, and if you stay the whole day, you will also receive a prize.
